Christkindl Markt
Located in the heart of Franklin Square, New York, Plattduetsche Park has been Long Island's home for German culture, cuisine and events since 1901. With a property of eight acres in size, Plattduetsche is a whole lot more than your average German restaurant. In fact, besides our main building restaurant, we have a Beer Hall, Biergarten, Brathaus, catering halls and a large event space.

Whether you're looking for a weekday dining spot, a unique venue for a day out with friends or the perfect location for any kind of event, we have everything you need to make it happen! Since 1883, Plattduetsche Volksfest Vereen of Brooklyn (PVV), a society of German immigrants from the flatlands of northern Germany, has called New York home. This group, which Plattduetsche Park evolved from, was created to care for the needy and sick individuals in their community and promote German culture and tradition.

To that end, the society held events and festivals at local beer gardens to raise money and impart German culture in the community.
Services
Plattduetsche Park has been Long Island and the surrounding area's top destination for traditional German specialties and continental cuisine since 1901.
On our eight-acre property, we are home to a restaurant, Biergarten, catering facilities, festivals, more than two dozen German clubs and so much more.
Plattduetsche traces it roots back to 1883 when Plattduetsche Volksfest Vereen of Brooklyn (PVV) formed as a society for German immigrants from the flatlands of northern Germany.
The group was dedicated to upholding German culture and tradition and supporting injured, sick and needy individuals and families within their local immigrant community.
Plattduetsche Park traces its origins back to 1883 when Plattduetsche Vereen of Brooklyn, a society of immigrants from the flatlands of northern Germany (which is the meaning of Plattduetsche), was created.
It formed out of the need for welfare and support of local community members, as well as for the promotion of German culture and tradition.
If you were injured, sick or couldn't work, they would feed and take care of your family.
As a part of the society, you would receive a daily stipend in case of hardship.
Plattduetsche Park was originally founded as a support system and social hall for local German immigrants in the late 1800s.
While adapting to life in America, it was important for them to remember and connect with their roots, as well as celebrate and pass on their heritage and customs to new generations growing up in a foreign country.
It promotes its heritage by participating in many events and activities in and around the tri-state area.
In addition to developing individual skills, emphasis is also placed on teamwork, sportsmanship, respect for others and loyalty to the club and its members.
Plattduetsche Park wouldn't be anything without the hard work of our dedicated staff, as well as everyone that has worked with us over the years.
