Our business began as a tiny corner grocery in Northeast Minneapolis in 1934 and eventually evolved into the diverse family of family businesses it is today. You may know Surdyk's for our liquor store. Perhaps your parents shopped there, or even your grandparents. Heck, even your great-grandparents. It might be the place you bought your first bottle of wine or tasted your first taste of a perfectly ripe French cheese.
We've been making entertaining easy for 86 years, and we take pride in being a part of so many family memories, from weeknight dinners to big celebrations, over the past century. We've been in the business of fine food since 1979, when our Cheese Shop opened its doors. Surdyk's Catering was born out of that tiny corner spot in our flagship store. Our operations have grown considerably in the past decade, and we're proud to say that we now cater hundreds of full-service events in venues across the Twin Cities each year.
