Chef Gerardo Castro is a rare gem in the culinary world. Born and raised in Mexico; humble beginnings ignited a passion for success and a skill for sourcing herbs, produce, and fine meat to create exquisitely gusto dishes.

Chef Castro, a graduate of the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) has successfully opened 2 restaurants in the Napa Valley. Playing a key role as the executive sous-chef at Farmstead Restaurant serving American farmhouse fare and then as the executive chef at Tarla Meditrranean Grill serving Greek/Turkish fusion cuisine. Both restaurants continue to be prosperous and an integral part of the community.

Raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, Gerardo discovered his culinary talents while growing up on his family's farm.
Being raised close to the land gave him a special interest in food that continues to guide his approach to cooking.

Peeling potatoes you pulled from the earth, preparing meat from an animal that was running around an hour before it landed in your pot - these are special moments.

Food can be served either rustic/family style or plated and coursed out.
Paella is a delicious Valencian rice dish that can consist of a mixture of seafood, green vegetables, meat such as rabbit, chicken and duck, beans, olive oil, saffron and seasoning.
This world renowned delicacy is cooked "out in the open" with a shallow large paella pan for large social gatherings.
