Halsell Brokerage & Distributing Company was started in 1938 by Louis Halsell Sr.
In the early days, Louis Sr. was a manufacturer's representative for the Anchor Hocking Glass Company, focusing on the tableware and container lines.
When Anchor Hocking Glass acquired the Ewing Steam Cleaner Company, Louis sold custom steam cleaners, and later industrial water heaters for the coin-op laundry industry.
Over time, he also moved into the food packaging equipment arena.
In 1958, Louis Halsell Jr. (known affectionately to our customers as Lou) graduated from CU-Boulder and joined his father in the business.
